Mortadella Sandwich

“Grown Up” Bologna Sando

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 4 Squares of Focaccia
  • 2 lb. Mortadella (thinly sliced 1/2 lb per sandwich)
  • Pistachio cream spread (can be found at specialty grocer)
  • 8 oz. Stracciatella di bufala
  • Olive oil
  • Chopped Pistachios or Hazelnuts

This sandwich is classy, creamy, and just a little bit nutty—kind of like your Uncle Sal, but way more delicious.

 

Instructions:

 

To assemble this delectable sandwich, start with splitting the focaccia. Drizzle the inside of each piece with a good quality olive oil. Then, evenly spread the pistachio cream on one side of the focaccia. Next, sprinkle some chopped pistachios or hazelnuts on top of the spread. Follow that up by layering the Stracciatella di bufala and mortadella. Top it with the remaining focaccia slice. Buon Appetito!
